March 8 & 9

Hi all–

Tough to believe, but this is the last full weekend of training for the U10s this year. On the 15th we’ll have the Tecnica Winter Finish, which our last official day. It’s been quite a winter and we’ve had SO MUCH FUN skiing with the U10s and seeing the ASTOUNDING progress they have made.

On Saturday and Sunday most of our coaches will be at the Skiway for a combination of freeskiing and gate/stubby training. Meeting time/place is the usual 8:55 in front of the Lodge. We expect to be skiing/training on the Holt’s side on Saturday as the U14 State Championships Slalom will be on Thomas. Sunday we’ll flip to Winslow and Thomas when the U14s go to Worden’s.

For anyone coming down to Mount Sunapee with family to watch the U12 State Championships, discount tickets are available to families of U12 competitors. If you are planning to come, but are not a family member, email and we will see if we can get you in on the ticket discount.  U10s who want to ski with other U10s at Sunapee will have two options. We’ll have an informal meet-up at the Spruce Lodge in the morning and at the NASTAR Corral at 9am, so kids can connect with other kids and families. We’ve gotten conflicting reports as to whether or not the NASTAR course will be up on Saturday (it will not be up on Sunday). Assuming it is up, getting a day pass for NASTAR is a great thing for our U10s to try.  In addition to that our kids have also been invited to rejoin our friends on the Mount Sunapee U10 team for the day (or part of the day). If your skier would like to hop in with a Sunapee group, please email Mark, if you just want to connect with other skiers at the meet-up, just show up.

See you this weekend!
