March 8 and beyond, training and races

The weekend of March 8 & 9 there will be training at the Skiway as well as informal big mountain opportunities at Mount Sunapee.

At the Skiway, everyone will meet at the regular time and we’ll have about half our usual coaching staff to lead the kids in freeskiing — the groups will be a little different, but fun will be the same as always!

Many of our coaches and families will be Mount Sunapee that weekend for the U12 State Championships. All families of U12 Championship competitors are offered special group ticket rates through the group sales office. If anyone else would like to come down to Mount Sunapee that weekend, please email and we will work on getting a group rate for the rest of the program. (Please note, we will need advance commitments to get that group rate). We rally Ford Sayre families at the North Peak chair each morning around 9am for freeskiing.

March 15 is our last official program day. We encourage all U-10 skiers to enter our home USSA race the Tecnica Winter Finish. You can enter by going to

The following weekend we will also have many Ford Sayre racers at the Mount Sunapee T-Shirt Race on March 22, and encourage anyone and everyone to join us for this winter beach party masquerading as a ski race. Enter on

A handful of Ford Sayre racers will also go to some combination of the Pendoley Slalom at Cannon on March 16, the Crotched Mug Cup Kombi race on March 30 and/or the Stowe Sugar Slalom on April 5 & 6. You can enter any or all of these races on These are not official races on our calendar, but you will likely see familiar faces if you do go.
