7:15am Update January 11. Severe Driving Issues on Secondary Roads

So, we pretty much are getting the weather that was predicted. We have about another 30-45 minutes of freezing rain coming, then it will switch over to rain. That said, up here in the woods of Lyme the report on the roads is not good. Sand trucks with chains are sliding on the secondary roads — enough so that they have been unable to sand, and it is there are range of coaches who will likely not be able to get to the Skiway at the normal time. I have not been able to determine what the primary roads are like yet.

Sooooooo. Three punchlines.

1) If you come be really careful.

2) We’ll be going with the flow as far as timing and plan goes. We still plan to ski some gates on Thomas. Exact time etc… to be determined. If you arrive at the Skiway at the normal time, look for us at the Lodge. If you arrive later, check the lodge first, then look for us on Winslow lift.

3) There will be plenty of other opportunities to ski gates etc… and your kids will have at Sunday’s race whether or not they got some gate skiing in today. The courses on Sunday are VERY simple to navigate.
