Here are few ski tuning mentors who are willing to host new tuners at their homes:
Jim Healy in Hanover — firstname.lastname@example.org
Mike Holmes in Hanover Center — email@example.com
Joe Perras in Norwich — firstname.lastname@example.org
I’ll add more to the list as time goes on.
For those who want an online resource, former Ford Sayre coach George Merrill, the owner of Artech, has a series of YouTube videos that go into detail on different aspects of tuning. That said, we need to warn you that he does go into GREAT detail on some aspects, and you should not feel the need to do EVERYTHING George outlines in order to get your skis into more than satisfactory shape. The key for most is to have a shop — like Artech help get the bases and base edge angles set, then you can take over and keep the edges honed and polished.
