Sign up for USSA “Open” Races

On our schedule many of you have noticed that for certain events we have a note that reads “USSA race, parents need to enter racers.”

There are three United States Skiing Association “open” U10 races that we’d like to have you sign your racer up for. They are all fun races that are age appropriate for our U10 skiers.

These are:

Jan 12  – Cote Open Dual Slalom at RAGGED MOUNTAIN

Feb 1 – Sunapee U10 Kombi at MOUNT SUNAPEE

March 15 – Tecnica Winter Finish GS at the Skiway – hosted by FORD SAYRE

There are some other USSA races later in March that we want everyone to know about, but they are not an official part of the calendar for the team. You can find these noted on the U10 Calendar.  These are kind of bonus opportunity for kids who are still fired up to race in late March!

To sign up for any USSA races the easiest way to do it is to go to and then look up these races first by STATE, and then by MOUNTAIN. You will need your racer’s 9-digit USSA number. Per directions on the site you will need to type the “E” that starts the number series.

It is possible that these races may “fill up,” so it is better to sign up sooner, rather than later. Regardless, you cannot register for these events the day before or the day of….

One other note: a few of our U10 skiers who have older siblings in the U12 program are planning to tag along to a USSA Giant Slalom at Crotched Mountain on January 30. Anyone who wants to enter this race is welcome to, but it is not an official Ford Sayre U10 event and we will not have staff there that day.
