Saturday the 14th: Brrrrrrrr

Everything is looking good at the Skiway for cold and snowy day on Saturday. Due to the lower temperatures, we will meet upstairs in the Lodge (North End) instead of outside a bit before 9am. That will give us time to give kids a run-down on key things they need to know and cut them up into groups. This weekend and next we’ll be working on solidifying our groups. In some cases kids will be part of a “double group” with multiple coaches that will break into smaller pods for parts or all of a given session.

Two things to keep in mind for Saturday.

1) We are only skiing together until 11:30am, but kids can stay longer and ski on their own.

2) It’s going to be COLD. Kids need to dress warmly and in layers. Saturday, most kids should have 3 layers on legs (double long underwear + ski pants) and at least 3 layers on top (base layer, mid-layer, and jacket) — many will have 4 layers. Neck warmers/face covering is also recommended. Ski socks should only be worn in ski boots — that keeps them warm and dry. Coaches will give the kids more tips as well this weekend.

See you at the Skiway.
