Training Saturday, Pico Race Sunday and no training on Monday

Hi all–

I know many of you are headed away for Feb vacation, but for those of you who are around we have a great weekend planned. Saturday we’ll be back at the Skiway for the first time in weeks, hopefully you will still be able to find your way there. Meet at 9am ready to ski outside the lodge.

Sunday all the U10s are signed up to go to Pico Peak in VT for a “Hopefuls” GS race and some big mountain skiing…as it will be a big day for most kids and the U12/U14 are planning to take Monday off, the U10’s will not be skiing on Monday, so don’t be afraid to ski your bottom off on Sunday!

For the Pico race, here are the details you need to know.

Race Registration: 8am – 9:15am in the basement of the Pico Ski Club. Race fee is $10 (cash is preferred, checks will be accepted – no credit cards).  This fee INCLUDES the lift ticket.

Please download and fill out this waiver before arriving, if possible.  It will save time!

Hopefuls Race @ Pico – Minor Participant

Meet coaches for Course Inspection at 9am at the base of the Little Pico Triple Chair. Course is located in front of the Pico Ski Club on B Slope.

The race course will be a two run GS, and runs will be back to back.

Bib order will be determined by gender and birth year. Example: females 2008, males 2008, females 2007, males 2007, etc

The parent/family ticket is $45.  The normal price at Pico on a holiday weekend is $68.  These tickets can NOT be purchased at registration.  A running order will be at the Pico Ticket Office and parents can purchase a ticket there.  Just be sure to have parents give their ski racer’s name or bib number to the ticket seller.

Please use the regular Pico Base Lodge, while it may look like there is some space at registration, the Pico Ski Club lodge is a private club for members only.

Awards will be 30 minutes after the last racer’s second run on the deck of the Pico Ski Club. Awards will be given by gender and birth year.  Every ski racer will receive an award.

We have been given permission to enter U12 siblings in the race….if you have a U12 you would like to bring to the race (as a racer), please email Sean Ross sross@lymetimber.com by 10am on Thursday with your child’s full name and date of birth and he will put your U12 on the roster.
